Thank you for visiting my web site and considering my specialized services to assist in your Steamboat area property search.

Very few real estate brokers have committed their practice to buyers as I have, but after years of observing how extensively buyer's interests were being neglected in real estate transactions, I made a conscious decision in 1999 to represent buyers only.

Buyers who have utilized my services continually comment on how different and comforting it was to know they had a 25+ year veteran dedicated, knowledgeable, reliable and willing to sit on their side of the table through thick and thin on any real estate purchase they make.  For me, my greatest satisfaction continues to come from building relationships with clients based on my uncompromised ability to offer my knowledge and unconditional loyalty to them.  On the contrary, if I were a traditional broker (where I would also take listings, and therefore represent sellers), I would constantly have to compromise those relationships.

I have had the fortunate experience of working for some of the largest resort operators in North America, including positions as Director of Real Estate for Copper Mountain (CO) and Hidden Valley (PA), Vice President for The Big Mountain Resort (MT) and Director of Real Estate for American Skiing Company's Steamboat operations.  With these positions I gained a great deal of knowledge in many aspects of the resort real estate, managing over $300,000,000 in real estate transactions.

I am continuously building my knowledge of the industry and earned my Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) designation in 1989 and the American Resort Development Association's prestigious Registered Resort Professional (RRP) designation in 1996.  To further enhance my service to buyers, I earned the respected Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM) designations in 2006 and the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents Association's (NAEBA) Certified Exclusive Buyer Agent (CEBA) designation in 2007 and my e-PRO designation from the National Association of REALTORS in 2008.  I am a founding member of the Colorado Exclusive Buyer Agents Association and served as its President from 2002 to 2004, served as Mountain Director for NAEBA from 2001 to 2003, was the 2005 President of the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors and served for two years as a Director of the Colorado Association of Realtors.  In 2005 I was honored as the Steamboat Springs Realtor of the Year, and in 2007 I was named to the "Heritage Registry of Who's Who in Real Estate".

Originally from Grove City, PA, I graduated from Slippery Rock University (PA) earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a concentration in Rural and Urban Planning.  While attending SRU I was elected captain of my college football team and also lettered in track and field.  I was a nationally ranked javelin thrower.

My wife, Mary, also works with me at Buyer's Resource.  We have three children, Kelly, Nick and Madeline.  Because our children are most interested in soccer, I can be found in my free time coaching or watching their games, playing ice hockey, skiing or golfing.  30 years ago I took an introductory course in flying airplanes and vowed some day to continue the dream of becoming a pilot.  The wait was longer than I had intended, but the passion remained as I obtained my private pilot's license in the fall of 2008.

I would enjoy discussing how I can be of service to you.

Ulrich Salzgeber

A native of Colorado, Ulrich and his wife Janet moved to Steamboat 30 years ago and can't imagine living anywhere else. Deeply involved in the community and sitting on various boards and committee's and past president of the Chamber Resort Assn., Ulrich believes in giving back to the community that has given he, his wife along with their two grown daughters so much. In his spare time he enjoys golf, skiing, tennis, softball, hiking and having a beer with good friends. Ulrich wants to put his knowledge of the community to help buyers find their dream property in the Yampa Valley.
